Koorana Child and Family Services is a community owned organisation committed to the provision of high quality family support, early childhood education and intervention services to children and families in Sydney?s Inner West, Canterbury and Bankstown LGA?S.

We are seeking an experienced, energetic and Diploma Qualified Educator to join our Preschool program full time. The position has an early intervention component, programming and implementing inclusive practices for children with additional needs, within a family centered model.

Our preschools have a high teacher: child ratio, and 25 places a day, 5-6 of which are specifically available to children with additional needs. This position works with the Preschool coordinator, Speech Pathologist, and Occupational Therapist to ensure all children within their focus group have maximum access to the curriculum. This is an exciting position for an Educator who is looking for a unique opportunity to further develop skills in inclusive education and education of children.

Essential:

• Associate Diploma/Diploma in Children?s Services
• Minimum three years experience working in a Preschool or Childcare setting
• Sound understanding of child development, stages of development, and factors that support learning
• Demonstrated ability to implement the Early Years Learning Framework
• Demonstrated ability to promote family involvement in the Preschool community, in particular families from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds
• Effective Interpersonal communication skills
• Current training in Child Protection and understanding relevant OH&S legislation
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate

Desirable

• Experience working in a preschool setting with children with diagnosed delays, disabilities, and special needs
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in the early childhood profession

The preferred applicant will be subject to a Working with Children check.
