Need more energy?
?
This is about your PERSONAL energy ? how to have more of it if you are feeling tired too often ? or just sayingthat because it?s a habit. Here are some ways to have more energy and feel so much better . . .thanks to MoneySavingMom. Your good health is your most precious resource; value it and take care of it.
?
1. Make Sleep a Priority
?
It?s hard to get sleep when you have a hundred other things you feel you should be doing. But you need your rest and if you don?t get it you?ll constantly be running on fumes. Rearrange your schedule, turn off the electronics, do relaxing things before bed, go to bed early , take a 30- minute nap in the afternoon, or do whatever else it takes to make sure you are getting good sleep at least 5-6 nights. Most Americans are sleep deprived. Don?t be one of them. It matters.
?
2. Drink More Water
?
Most of us suffer from dehydration, whether we know it or not. Make sure you?re drinking at least 64 to 80 ounces of water each day. If you think you?re currently drinking that much, track your water intake each day for two weeks. You might be surprised to realize you don?t drink as much as you think you do!
?
Always have a glass of water nearby and never leave the house without a big water bottle. By making water readily accessible, you will be more apt to drink.
?
3. Exercise
?
Exercise will refresh you, it will help you shed excess pounds that can be zapping your energy, and will probably help you be more alert and focused. Plus, as a sidebenefit, it will likely help you sleep better at night!
?
There are plenty of excuses for not exercising but everyone can find at least 10 minutes a few times per week to go out for a brisk walk, ride the exercise bike, do jumping jacks, or pop in an exercise DVD.
?
Be healthy, Suzy friends. Get started now on finding that energy you need to keep up with all you do. More tips to come.

How to travel for vacation?
?
Maybe you?ve already had your vacation this summer, but if you are still planning to get away, Earth911.com says the ?greenest? you can get is taking the bus. The carbon rank for bus travel is 1 out of 5. Worst is a single person taking a single car. Number 3 is a family taking a car.
?
Opting for public transportation is a great way to shrink the carbon impact of your weekday commute, but you can save even more GHGs by choosing alternate transit for long-range travel. On average, a couple traveling together will cut their carbon footprint nearly in half by boarding a motor coach, compared with driving a hybrid car. Take the motor coach instead of flying and cut their impact by 55 to 75 percent depending on distance. Motor coaches, which include tour, charter and intercity buses, edge out urban transit and trolley buses with respect to carbon impact. But both forms of bus transit outperform diesel-powered trains ? which make up the bulk of rail transit in the United States. Shockingly, despite enormous environmental benefits, travel on motor coaches and trains account for only 2 percent of American vacation travel
?
Defy the statistics by choosing motor coach travel for your summer vacation. Think traveling by bus will take the fun out of your getaway plans? Think again. Many bus lines offer comfortable cabins, wireless internet and satellite TV for maximum passenger comfort. Using public transportation also minimizes the stress of your trip (read: no driving or security lines).

Try it ? just for the experience. The kids will consider it an adventure.

Modifying your gift budget
?
As we?ve often discussed, even small modifications in your family budget can make a difference. Jennifer of When Pigs Fly shares her experience as she faced the necessary of revamping her family budget by making across-the-board cuts. It required going through expenses line by line and asking: ?Do we really need this??
?
One of the categories in question was their Gift Budget, which was $120 per month. She decided to drastically reduce it and implement creative ways to give gifts for special occasions.
?
Anyone can run to the store and pick up a quick gift and card. She and her husband focused on showing their gift recipients they put extra effort into creating something unique and personal, especially for them ? while saving money along the way! Some ideas:
1. Find your inner Betty Crocker!
?
Most people really enjoy receiving homemade treats. Get creative and bake up a small sample platter showcasing your favorite desserts, a simple batch of cookies, or homemade cake pops. Baked goods make great gifts, especially when you have to give several gifts at one time. Give it that extra touch by purchasing a decorative platter or container at your local Dollar Store.
?
2. Recycle cards.
?
As you receive cards for all occasions throughout the year, place them aside. When a need arises, cut the fronts off with decorative scissors, leaving the back blank for a special note or make into a gift tag. If you?re really creative, use sections of the cards to create a whole new card, using scrap-booking supplies you already have on hand. Plus, don?t forget to utilize the free card promo codes, often offered on online card sites!
?
3. Substitute gift wrappings.
?
Forget about buying wrapping paper and gift bags, I love to use my Sunday Comics as wrapping paper. Forgo expensive gift bags and consider packaging your item in a basket, crate, mason jar, or bin, that you already have. Also, save the ribbons and special embellishments from gifts you receive, and reuse them to decorate your gift.
?
4. Regift.
?
Okay, this may be tacky to some, but don?t let a gift you received (and won?t use) go to waste. Place it aside for a future gift-giving occasion ? just not to the one who originally gave it to you! One big no-no: Don?t regift anything that was especially handmade for you.
?
5. Give recycled gifts.
?
Your home is full of gift possibilities, so before you throw items out, think! Turn an empty wine bottle into an elegant Tiki Torch, an old window shutter into a photo frame, or a small wooden crate into a beautiful planter.
?
6. Use those freebies.
?
Opportunities to receive free items are readily available these days ? store promotions, giveaways and contests, requested samples, etc. When you get such items, set them aside. Use them later to create themed gift baskets for unexpected events such as baby showers, house warming, or get-well.
