Plymouth mayor wants more clout for public works group



PLYMOUTH -- The mayor tonight may ask the Town Council to create a Charter Revision Commission to investigate giving the newly created Public Works Advisory Commission more clout.

Changing the town's charter would be necessary to allow the public works board, created by the council in January, to oversee hiring and firing within the public works department and participate in creating the department budget.

Mayor Vincent Festa Jr. has listed the item on the agenda for the 7 p.m. council meeting at Town Hall.
